Norma M. Richert of Hoffman, Illinois died Sunday, November 9, 2014 at the Carlyle Healthcare Center at the age of 84 years. Norma was born in Minot, North Dakota on January 5, 1930, the daughter of Arnold and Margaret (Broderson) Detlaff. She married Ray Richert at Lynch Immanuel Lutheran Church, Glenburn, North Dakota on June 19, 1953, and he survives in Hoffman.
Mrs. Richert is also survived by her children: Becky Wessel and husband Joel of Carlyle, Terry Richert of Hoffman, Illinois and Rick Richert and wife Yvonne of Marion, Illinois; two grandchildren: Dustin Richert and wife Amanda and Cody Richert; a great granddaughter: Juliana Richert; and siblings: Dorene Richert and husband Fay of New Haven, Indiana, Ralph Detlaff and wife Ruth and Robert Detlaff and wife Shirley both of Minot, North Dakota.
Norma was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoffman where she had taught Sunday School for many years. She was also a member of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League and Lutheran Laymens League.
Funeral services for Mrs. Richert will be Friday at 11:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoffman with Pastor Stephen Krenz officiating. The interment will follow at the Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoffman on Thursday from 5 to 8:00 PM or on Friday from 9:00 AM until the time of services.
