Thelma M. Obermeier, 83, of Belleville, died Tuesday, January 15, 2008, at Rosewood Care Center in Swansea. She was born December 6, 1924 in Anna, daughter of Harold W. "Ducky" and Blanche (Fulkerson) Davis. She married Carl W. Obermeier June 20, 1942 in Jackson, MO and he preceded her in death September 15, 1998. She is survived by her children, Roger (Diana) Obermeier of Jefferson City, MO., Karla Lippert of Smithton, Jerri (Ray) Hallemann of New Haven, MO; seven grandchildren, Kathy (Bob) Wildermuth, James Zeller, Charlie (Michelle) Lippert, Susan (Mark) Kassebaum, Jean (Mike) Oetterer, Kristi (Lance) Turner and Bobby (Christi) Obermeier; 13 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mildred (Bob) Kohler of Anna, Dorothy Day of Belleville, Jean Hanff of Kirkwood, MO; and one brother, Harold "Bud" (Joan) Davis of O’Fallon, MO. In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Michael F. Begemann; a son-in-law, Larry Lippert and her dog "Rowdy". Mrs. Obermeier was a computer programmer for the federal government for over 30 years. She was a member of St. Matthew Methodist Church in Belleville and numerous clubs and organizations. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 18, 2008 at Hempen Funeral Home in New Baden with Rev. Pam Hoffman presiding. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, January 17, 2008 and from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Friday, January 18, 2008 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice or the American Cancer Society and will be received at the funeral home.
