Ogden, E. "Bob"

Robert E. “Bob” Ogden, 71, of New Baden, died Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at St. Joseph Hospital in Breese. He was born May 16, 1942 in Medford, ME, son of John P. and Alice (Lovejoy) Ogden. He married Judy G. Stone on September 25, 1963 in Fort Worth, Texas and she survives in New Baden. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Kevin (Cindy) Ogden, Cheryl L. (special friend, Loren Drummond) Ogden, and Tina Madison all of New Baden; five grandchildren, Amanda (Charles) Tincher, Kevin (fiancée, Brittany) Ogden, Jr., Nick Thoele, Kayla Madison, and Brandon Madison; two great-grandchildren, Jayden Davis and Lily Ogden; brothers and sisters, Larry Ogden, Arthur Ogden, John Ogden, Gertrude Demers, Gladys Wright, and Benny Ogden all of Maine; and Phillip Ogden of North Carolina. He is also survived by nieces and nephews and he was anticipating the birth of another great-grandchild in February of 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Norma Wright; and a brother; Lindy Ogden. Mr. Ogden was a veteran of the United States Air Force, a Vietnam Veteran and retired as a Master Sergeant. Following his retirement, he was a security guard at numerous places. Bob was a 40 year member of the New Baden American Legion Post 321 and a member of the New Baden Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 3642. All services are private. Memorials may be made to the New Baden American Legion Post 321 and will be received at Hempen Funeral Home, 15 E. Hanover, New Baden, IL 62265 who is in charge of arrangements.
