Olive P. Becker, 88, of rural Breese, died Sunday, November 22, 2015, at her home. She was born October 23, 1927, in Marydale, the daughter of Paul B. and Elizabeth (Hempen) Huels. She married Ed Becker October 22, 1949, in Marydale.
Olive is survived by her husband; five sons, Bill (Joanie) Becker, Doug (Sandy) Becker, Terry (Jean) Becker, Rocky (Marilyn) Becker, and John (Rea Lynn) Becker; 14 grandchildren, Matt (Staci) Becker, David Becker, Libbey (fiancé, Danny) Becker, Mark (fiancée, Emily) Becker, Alicia Becker, Luke Becker, Brian (Stacey) Becker, John (Melissa) Becker, Kristi (Brad) Korte, Laurie (Mike) Welch, Jesse Becker, Katie Becker, Jacob Becker, and Sam Becker; 10 great-grandchildren; a sister, Kate Von Hatten; two brothers, Matt (Rita) Huels and Edward ‘Joey’ (Nancy) Huels; and sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Betty Huels, Leona Becker, and Barb & John Krebs; and many loved nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Sister Joette Huels; three brothers, Louis Huels, Paul Huels, and Carl Huels; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Adolph Von Hatten, Aggie Huels, Helen Huels, Mick Becker, and Bert & Dick Mroczek.
Olive was a homemaker, a member of St. Dominic Parish, and a former member of the Ladies Altar Sodality. She enjoyed going to sporting events with her husband and spending time with family and friends. She was always smiling and excited to visit with anyone she met.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at St. Dominic Catholic Church with Fr. Patrick Peter officiating. Interment will follow at St. Dominic/St. Augustine Cemetery in Breese.
Friends and relatives may call from 8 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, November 25, 2015, at Nordike Funeral Home in Breese.
Memorials may be made to Mater Dei High School, All Saints Academy, St. Dominic Parish, or the charity of the donor’s choice and will be received at the funeral home.
