Orlu L. Kleber of Carlyle died Friday, July 31, 2009 at the Carlyle Healthcare Center at the age of 92 years. She was born in Red Bud, Illinois on August 7, 1916 the daughter of George and Emma (Wagner) Boo. Orlu married Jess Kleber on September 30, 1939 in Union, Missouri and he preceded her in death on October 14, 1982.
Mrs. Kleber is survived by a sister: Geraldine Wolff of Red Bud, Illinois; a niece: Janine (Barney) Ehlers of Carlyle; and great niece and great nephew: Sarah Ehlers of Ann Arbor, Michigan and Gavin Ehlers of Huntington Beach, California.
Orlu was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters: Burdell Boyd and Margaret Hamilton; and a brother: Eugene Boo.
Mrs. Kleber was a member of the Immanuel United Church of Christ. Mrs. Kleber owned and operated many businesses with her husband, one of the last being the former Dairy Burger in Carlyle.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at Carlyle Cemetery with Rev. Earl Menchhofer officiating. Friends are asked to go directly to the cemetery.
