Patricia Ann Huegen, 79, of Albers, died Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at St. Joseph Hospital in Breese. She was born March 16, 1938 in Belleville, the daughter of Alvin and Clara, nee Sandheinrich, Schmidt. She married David D. Huegen September 1, 1958 at St. Theresa Church in Belleville and he survives in Albers.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her children, Jody (Jerry Timmermann) Jakel of Trenton, Kevin “Duck” (special friend, Gina Brouk) Huegen of Mascoutah, Douglas “Moe” (Chris) Huegen of Germantown, and Dana (Ken) Lake of Albers; 10 grandchildren, John (Kelsey) Hollenkamp, James (Amy) Hollenkamp, Jeff (Jenn) Hollenkamp, Harrison Huegen, Casey, and Connor Huegen, and Austen, Kellen, Jensen, and Makenna Lake; four great-grandchildren, Aliceandra and Archer Hollenkamp, Lenore Hollenkamp, and Bryce Hollenkamp; a sister, Janet (Virgil) Heimann of Germantown; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Flavian Farrell of Belleville, Georgia Ann & Leonard Toennies of Albers, Richard Huegen of Covington, and Shirley & Matt Henrichs of St. Rose; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harry & Margaret Huegen; and a brother-in-law, James Farrell.
Mrs. Huegen worked in the medical records department at Anderson Hospital before her retirement. She was a member of St. Bernard Parish and ladies sodality and enjoyed playing cards and dominos. Her most cherished moments were spending time with her grandchildren and going to their games and activities.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 1, 2017 at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Albers with Msgr. James Buerster, Deacon Glenn Netemeyer, and Pastor Kevin Badgley officiating. Burial will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery in Albers.
Friends may call Friday, June 30, 2017 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and again on Saturday, July 1, 2017 from 8 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Albers.
Memorials may be made to St. Bernard Parish or Living Hope Fellowship and will be received at the church or Nordike Funeral Home, 15 E. Hanover, New Baden, IL 62265 who is serving the family.
