Paul B. Huelsmann, 70, formerly of Beaver Prairie, died Thursday, May 12, 2016 at Faith Countryside Homes in Highland. He was born July 7, 1945 in St. Louis, MO, the son of Eugene and Marcella (Schroer) Huelsmann.
Paul is survived by his children, Ann (Bryan) Albers of Trenton, Steve (Krystal) Huelsmann of New Baden, Matt (Kim) Huelsmann of Germantown, Sarah (Travis) Santel of New Baden, Joshua (Krystle) Huelsmann of Highland, and Emily (Orlando) Hernandez of Lake Villa; his grandchildren, Rebecca & Elizabeth Albers, Noah & Laine Huelsmann, Nathan & Nicholas Huelsmann, Logan, Gwenyvere, & Evelyn Santel, Thomas & Jacob Huelsmann, Henry Hernandez, and was anticipating the birth of another granddaughter; step-grandchildren, David, Sarah, and Christian Hernandez; a brother, Francis (Agnes) Huelsmann of Aviston; two sisters, Rosann (Al) Gebke of Breese, and Geri Fitzgerald of Waterloo; and his special friend, Carol Roeckenhaus.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Angela Huelsmann; a brother, Michael Huelsmann; and a brother-in-law, Mike Fitzgerald.
Mr. Huelsmann was an operator for Zachry Farms before his retirement and also was a member of the United States Air Force Reserves. Paul enjoyed being outdoors, farming, riding motorcycles, hunting, long drives on country roads, tractor pulling, and raising horses and mules. He especially enjoyed visiting with his family and grandkids.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 16, 2016 at Zion United Church of Christ in New Baden with Rev. Gretchen Sterrett officiating. Burial will follow at Greenmount Cemetery in New Baden.
Friends may call Sunday, May 15, 2016 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and again on Monday, May 16, 2016 from 9 a.m. until time of services at Zion United Church of Christ in New Baden.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or Zion United Church of Christ and will be received at the church or Nordike Funeral Home, 15. E. Hanover, New Baden, IL 62265 who is serving the family.
