Robert E. Peter, 65, of St. Charles, MO, died Sunday, February 12, 2006, at Blanchette Place in St. Charles, MO. He was born on July 25, 1940 in Breese, Ill. son of Robert & Geraldine "Gerry" (Porter) Peter.
He married Karen Kay Reekers November 21, 1964 and they later divorced. She survives in St. Charles, MO. He is also survived by his children, Cindy Walker of Warrenton, MO, Marita Schuler of St. Charles, MO and Mark Peter and wife Jeriann of Winfield, MO; a brother, Dale Peter and wife Sonja formerly of New Baden and Trenton; four grandchildren, Jessica L. Walker, Brandon T. Walker, Coleton M. Schuler and Alexandria C. Peter.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Peter retired from the parts department of the GM Assembly Plant in Hazelwood, MO in 1996. He was a member of United Auto Workers Local 25 in Hazelwood, MO. He loved all outdoor activities, he was a private pilot, and he loved to parachute and hang glide. He went to Honduras every year, and was a certified scuba diver. He water skied and also loved camping.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon, Friday, February 17, 2006 at Hempen Funeral Home in New Baden, Ill. with Rev. Mark Boeckman officiating. Interment will follow at Greenmount Cemetery in New Baden, Ill.
