Alphonse H. Pingsterhaus, 84, of Damiansville, died Saturday, July 5, 2008 at Greenville Regional Hospital in Greenville. He was born October 25, 1923 in Breese Twp., son of William J. and Agnes (Wellinghoff) Pingsterhaus. He is survived by brothers & sisters, Dorothy (Paul) Rensing of Albers, Pauline Holtmann of Edwardsville, Edwin (Catherine) Pingsterhaus of Germantown, Robert Pingsterhaus of Danville, Gregory (Florence) Pingsterhaus of Aviston, Joseph (Lucille) Pingsterhaus of Germantown; sister-in-law, Pat Pingsterhaus of Dodge City, KS; he is also survived by nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Wilbert Pingsterhaus and Edward Pingsterhaus; a sister Frances Pingsterhaus and a brother-in-law, Dale Holtmann. Mr. Pingsterhaus was a farmer and a member of St. Damian Parish in Damiansville. A funeral mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at St. Damian Catholic Church in Damiansville with Msgr. Donald Eichenseer officiating. Interment will follow at St. Damian Cemetery in Damiansville. Friends may call from 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at Hempen Funeral Home in Albers. Memorials may be made to St. Damian Cemetery Fund and will be received at the funeral home.
