Pamela A. Pitt, 46, of Breese, died Thursday, August 25, 2011 at Memorial Hospital in Belleville. She was born November 28, 1964 in Breese, daughter of Paul “Peanuts” and Agnes (Deiters) Hilmes. She married Michael A. Pitt on August 9, 1996 in Breese and he survives in Breese. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her parents, Paul “Peanuts” and Agnes Hilmes of Breese; brothers and sisters, Debbie (Cletus) Ratermann and Charlie (Carla) Hilmes all of Breese, Diane (Alfred) Holtgrave of St. Rose, and Mike (Chris) Hilmes and Kevin (Vanessa) Hilmes all of Breese; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Shelly (special friend, Jason Holthaus) Hilmes of Aviston, and Joe and Carla Pitt of Breese; and her mother-in-law, Mary Pitt of Breese; nieces and nephews, Greg (special friend, Teresa Soba Fournie) Ratermann, Scott (special friend, Mary McMullen) Ratermann, Eric (special friend, Nikki Kohlbrecher) Ratermann, Tammy (D.J.) Grindstaff, Lara (special friend, Josh Hardin) Holtgrave, Brad (special friend, Melanie Gartside) Holtgrave, Cierra Hilmes, Kristen Hilmes, Matthew Hilmes, Garrett Hilmes, Justin Hilmes, Tyler Hilmes, Bailey Hilmes, Ashley Pitt, Jacob Pitt; great-nephew, Alex Brown; great-niece, Emma Ratermann; and her beloved puppies, Cujo, C.J., Rascal and Chase. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Gary Hilmes and Jeff Hilmes; her grandparents; and her father-in-law, Don Pitt. Mrs. Pitt was an employee of Carlyle Wal-Mart and she was a member of St. Augustine Parish in Breese. She loved reading books, watching movies and was a huge fan of Rascal Flatts. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, August 29, 2011 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Breese with Rev. James Deiters officiating. Burial will follow St. Dominic/St. Augustine Cemetery in Breese. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday, August 28, 2011 and from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 29, 2011 at Hempen Funeral Home in Breese. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or to the donor’s choice and will be received at the funeral home.
