Poettker, Cletus

Cletus C. B. Poettker, 85, of Aviston, died Monday, September 15, 2008 at St. Joseph Hospital in Breese. He was born July 18, 1923 in Aviston, son of Herman and Mary (Strieker) Poettker. He is survived by one brother, Cyril (Dolores) Poettker of Breese; and three sisters, Sister Doris Poettker of Springfield, IL, Dolores Netemeyer of Albers, and Marie (Clarence) Plocher of Highland; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Joseph Poettker; brother-in-law, Ralph Netemeyer; and a sister-in-law, Elvira Poettker. Mr. Poettker was a farmer. He was a member of St. Francis Parish and Men’s Sodality in Aviston and the Clinton County Farm Bureau. A funeral mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 18, 2008 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Aviston with Rev. Ben Stern officiating. Interment will follow at St. Francis Cemetery in Aviston. Friends may call from 8:30 a. m. until 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 18, 2008 at Hempen Funeral Home in Aviston. Memorials may be made to St. Francis Parish and will be received at the funeral home.
