Margaret L. “Margie” Pollmann, 78, of Albers, died Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at her home. She was born October 28, 1933 in Beckemeyer, daughter of John H. and Cecilia (Dieckmann) Peters. She married Bernard H. “Barney” Pollmann on June 1, 1954 in Beckemeyer and he preceded her in death on February 5, 1996. Margie is survived by her children, Ken (Sharon) Pollmann of Belleville, Tom (Patti) Pollmann of New Baden, Theresa (Steve) Schrage of Aviston, Kevin (Laurie) Pollmann of Breese, Marilyn (Chris) Springer of Maplewood, MO, Curt (Heather) Pollmann of Columbia, and Gary (Cassie) Pollmann of Trenton; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and was anticipating the birth of her third great grandchild; three sisters, Joann “Pete” Harper of Carlyle, Helen Leonard of Germantown, and Ruth (Francis) Boeser of St. Morgan; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ruth Peters of Carlyle, Jean Peters of Mountain Home, AR, Margaret Pollmann of Beckemeyer, Alphonse & Dorothy Pollmann of Carlyle, Mary Ann Maue of Breese, and Dolores & Marcellus Huelsmann of Beckemeyer. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Pollmann; a sister, Agnes Lodes; two brothers, Vincent A. Peters, and Henry “Butch” Peters; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bernard & Anna Pollmann; and brothers-in-law, Francis Harper, Leroy Leonard, Joe Lodes, Vincent Pollmann, and Joe Maue. Mrs. Pollmann was a homemaker and for 7 years was a custodian at the Albers Grade School. She was a member of St. Bernard Parish, the Altar Sodality and was also an acolyte. She was a member of the American Legion Post 1026 Auxiliary in Albers, the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary in Carlyle, Catholic War Veterans Auxiliary in Carlyle, Catholic Holy Family Society (formerly CFL and CK&L of I), the Marian Movement of Priests, Daughters of Isabella Circle 718, and Associates of Precious Blood Nuns of Ruma. Margie was a school bus aid and was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and the food pantry. She enjoyed quilting, especially helping to make the Linus Blankets. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at St. Bernard Church in Albers with Rev. Jack Joyce officiating. Burial will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery in Albers. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, October 5, 2012 and from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Saturday, October 6, 2012 at Hempen Funeral Home in Albers.The Daughters of Isabella will pray the rosary at 7 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Bernard Parish, Mater Dei High School, or Family Hospice of Belleville and will be received at the funeral home.
