Radel, Rosella

Rosella Jane Radel, 78, of O’Fallon, MO, died Saturday, June 7, 2008 at Garden View Care Center in O’Fallon, MO. She was born July 14, 1929 in New Memphis, IL, daughter of Frank and Rosella (Roseberry) Maxfield. She married George "Sonny" Radel on March 5, 1954 in East St. Louis, IL and he survives. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Steven (Michele) Radel of Defiance, MO; three grandchildren, Eric Radel, Brian Radel and Jacqueline Miller; one sister, Effie M. Broeckling of New Baden, IL and a sister-in-law, Alice Maxfield of New Baden, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, eight brothers and four sisters. Mrs. Radel was a secretary with Suburban Journals. Friends may call from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Sunday, June 8, 2008 and from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. Monday, June 9, 2008 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 9, 2008 at Hempen Funeral Home in New Baden, IL with Dale Maxfield officiating. Interment will follow at Greenmount Cemetery in New Baden, IL. Memorials may be made to DASA (Disabled Athletes Sports Assn.) in St. Peters, MO and will be received at the funeral home.
