Ralph J. Hollenkamp of Carlyle died Monday, September 27, 2010 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese at the age of 90 years. He was born in Carlyle on April 28, 1920 the son of Henry J. and Anna (Mueller) Hollenkamp. Ralph married Helen Luebbers in St. Mary’s Church in Carlyle on September 9, 1941 and she survives along with two daughters: Debra Senderson of Desoto, Missouri and Paula Vallera and husband Tony of Mustang, Oklahoma; two sons: Ray Hollenkamp and wife Denise of Huntington Beach, California and David Hollenkamp and wife Pam of Fenton, Missouri; seventeen grandchildren and twenty-three great grandchildren.Ralph was preceded in death by his parents; children: Jim Hollenkamp, Bill Hollenkamp and Mary Karen Hollenkamp; sisters: Adeline Clark and Magdalen Karbon; and a brother: Vince Hollenkamp.Ralph was a truck driver for Krebs Trucking of Carlyle, retiring in 1985. He was a member of St. Mary Church. He enjoyed tinkering in his garage, playing cards, gardening and especially spending time with his children and grandchildren.A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, October 2, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary Church with Fr. George Mauck officiating. The interment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery.Friends may visit with the family at the Frerker Funeral Home in Carlyle on Friday from 4 to 8:00 P.M. or on Saturday from 8 to 9:30 A.M.Memorials may be made in Ralph’s honor to the charity of the donors choice and those will be received at the Frerker Funeral Home which is surviving the family.
