Ratermann, Evelyn

Evelyn A. Ratermann, 90, of Breese, died Monday, January 5, 2015 at Memorial Hospital in Belleville. She was born July 22, 1924 in Highland, daughter of Otto and Mary (Kruep) Kapp. She married August H. Ratermann on October 4, 1944 in Breese and he preceded her in death on November 18, 1998. She is survived by her children, George (Jo Ann) Ratermann of St. Louis, MO, Mary (William) Schaub of Smithon, IL, Charles (Lynn) Ratermann of St. Charles, MO, John (Eileen) Ratermann of Breese, IL, Martha (Glenn) Baer of St. Louis, MO, Margie (Martin) Holtgrave of New Baden, IL, and Clara (Greg) Schuerman of Liberty, MO; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Richard (Nettie) Kapp of Fairview Heights, IL; and a sister, Clara (Jerome) Korte of Collinsville, IL. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a son, William Ratermann; a grandson, Michael Kohnen; a brother, Harold Kapp; sisters, Viola Trame, Leona Ratermann, Irene Gebke, Eleanor Renschen, and Mary Ann Ripperda; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Alphonse Trame, Ray Ratermann, Arnold Gebke, Cornelius Renschen, Paul Ripperda, Josephine Kapp, Victor and Veronica Ratermann, Leo and Bertha Ratermann, Clara Winifred Ratermann, and Anna and Joseph Kruep. Evelyn was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Dominic Parish and Ladies Sodality in Breese. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese with Rev. Patrick Peter officiating. Burial will follow at St. Dominic/St. Augustine Cemetery in Breese. Friends may call from 10:00 AM until time of service Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or to St. Dominic Parish and will be received at the church or Hempen-Nordike Funeral Home, 150 N. Clinton, Breese, IL 62230 who is in charge of arrangements.
