Arlene D. Rensing, 73, of New Baden, died Wednesday, April 5, 2006 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Belleville. She was born April 3, 1933 in New Memphis, daughter of Frank & Mirty (Hill) Walthes. She married Ernst L. Rensing on May 6, 1958 in Mascoutah and he preceded her in death on May 8, 1995. She is survived by five sons, John Rensing, Sr. and wife Dawn of Addieville, James Rensing of New Baden, Jeffrey Rensing of New Baden, Jesse Rensing and wife Debbie of Topeka, KS, and Joel Rensing of New Baden; five grandchildren, Susan, John, Jr., Jason, & Kayla Rensing, & Stephen Allen; three great-grandchildren, Nicolas, Elizabeth, & Draven; one brother, Delmar "Pat" Walthes of Lebanon, three sisters, Viola Jansen of New Baden, Addie Lampe of O’Fallon, and Lulla Belle Rensing of O’Fallon; a brother-in-law Richard Rensing of New Baden and asister-in-law, Mildred Walthes of Cahokia. Nieces and nephews also survive her. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by six brothers, Harold, Clarence, Earl, Vernon, Arnold and Robert Walthes; two sisters, Gladys French and Roberta Lee; and also by her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Mrs. Rensing was a nurse’s aid at Clinton Manor Living Center in New Baden for 18 years. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 8, 2006 at Hempen Funeral Home in New Baden with Rev. Gretchen Sterrett officiating. Interment will follow at Greenmount Cemetery in New Baden. Friends may call Friday, April 7, 2006 from 5 PM until 8 PM and on Saturday, April 8, 2006 from 9 AM until 11 AM at Hempen Funeral Home in New Baden. Memorials may be made to Clinton Manor Activity Fund and will be received at the funeral home.
