Jane R. Renth, 90, of Mascoutah, died Friday, September 6, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Belleville. She was born April 6, 1923 in E. St. Louis, IL, daughter of Stanley A. and Rose (Wrzos) Klich. She married Ralph O. Renth on August 26, 1944 at St. John United Church of Christ in Mascoutah and he preceded her in death on January 19, 2002. She is survived by her children, Mary Jane Korte of Albers, Kathleen Forth of Centralia, Michelle “Mickey” (Bill) Faust of Lebanon, Ralph R. (Debbie) Renth of Mascoutah, and Ronald V. (special friend, Bea Muston) Renth of New Baden; 11 grandchildren, Sandi Cunningham, Kenneth (Sonia) Schanz, Kristine (Gene, Jr.) Lowe, Matthew (Teri) Martin, Toni (Mike) Beisiegel, Billy (Rachel) Faust, Jen (Roger) Emig, Mark (Christine) Renth, Eric Renth, Alicia K. (special friend, Keith Burton) Renth, and Clayton (Alicia M.) Renth; five step-grandchildren, Rick (Tina) Korte, Craig (Dana) Korte, Steven Korte, Justin Lowe, and Aaron Lowe; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; seven sisters, Bernice Duecker of Baldwin, Loretta McMillian of Venedy, Frances “Suzie” Renth of Nashville, Mary Ann (Joseph) Klohr of Belleville, Teresa (Carl) Pendegraft of Lebanon, Dorothy Renth of Mascoutah, and Patricia Deutsch of Shiloh; a brother, Stephen “Shorty” Klich of Ashley; and her beloved dog, Charlie. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two sons-in-law, Louis T. “Bud” Korte, Jr. and Mark Forth; a grandson-in-law, Bob Cunningham; a step-grandson, Michael Korte; three sisters, Stella Madura, Helen Ismail, and Estelle Klich; two brothers, Joseph Klich and John Klich; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Joe Madura, Jeff Ismail, Paul Duecker, James McMillian, Agnes Klich, Russell Renth, Dennis Deutsch, Arthur C. “Jr” Renth, Dorothy & Victor Jollenbeck, Thelma & Howard Richter, Bernice & Bill McDaniel, Adam J. “Butch” Renth, Elois Renth, Mildred Renth, and Della Renth. During WWII Mrs. Renth worked at McDonald-Douglas in St. Louis, MO and was “Rosie The Riveter”, she then worked at Bemis Bag Company in St. Louis, MO and also helped her husband on the farm. She was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Mascoutah and St. Clair County Farm Bureau. She enjoyed bird watching, flowers, dancing the polka with her husband, and listening to ballgames. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at Hempen Funeral Home in New Baden with Pastor Hugh Fitz officiating. Burial will follow at Summerfield Cemetery in Summerfield. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, September 9, 2013 and from 9 a.m. until time of service Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at Hempen Funeral Home in New Baden. Memorials may be made to the New Baden Fire Department and will be received at the funeral home.
