Richard J. Pax

Richard J. Pax of Carlyle died Wednesday, July 16, 2014at his residence at the age of 93 years. Richard was born in Beckemeyer, Illinois on August 13, 1920, the son of Joseph and Elizabeth (Taphorn) Pax. He married Marjorie Erlinger in Bartelso, Illinois on February 19, 1946 and she survives in Carlyle. Richard is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents and a brother: Harold Pax.
Mr. Pax was a Systems Analyst at Scott Air Force Base before his retirement. He was an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Carlyle, volunteering for over 50 years with the collection accounting process. He served in World War II with the United State Army Air Force. He was an lifelong active member with the Marion Post #1780 of the Catholic War Veterans, the Goldsmith-Terry Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #3523 in Carlyle and a Life Member of the
Bartelso American Legion Post #976 where he held membership for 70 years. He was active with the Clinton County Historical Society,having served as treasurer.
In keeping with Mr. Pax’s wishes, all services were private.
For those wishing to honor Richard with a memorial, the family suggests memorials to St. Mary Church in Carlyle or the Clinton County Historical Society, and those will be received at the Frerker Funeral Home in Carlyle which is serving the family.
