Dorothy H. Richter, 73, of Breese, died Thursday, November 29, 2007 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born May 12, 1934 in Bartelso, daughter of Aloys and Leonora (Becker) Loepker. She married Casper W. Richter, June 19, 1956 in Bartelso and he survives in Breese. In addition to her husband, she is survived by four sons, Tom Richter and wife Karen, Steve Richter, Randy Richter and wife Tracy, & Duane Richter and wife Melissa all of Breese; one daughter, Kathleen Hodges and husband Tim of New Baden; nine grandchildren, Melissa Becker and husband John, Lauren Richter and fiancé Dustin Melton, Jason Richter and girlfriend Eva Cotton, Kyle Richter, Cody Richter, Brenndon Richter and Baylee Richter and Joshua Hodges and Jordan Hodges; one great grandchild, Logan Becker and one great grandchild, baby Jaelynn Richter due on December 10, 2007; brother and sisters, Bernard Loepker and wife Mildred of Bartelso, Elsie Wiegmann of Trenton, Herbert Loepker and wife JoAnn of Troy, Edna Mae Woltering of Carlyle, Ethel Mae Petermeyer and husband Ralph of Carlyle; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Frances Loepker of Washington, MO, Art Kueneke of Breese, Gene & Lorene Niemeyer of Breese, Jane Vahlkamp of Breese, and R. Joe and Barbara Richter of Breese; she is also survived by many close friends and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Ervin Loepker; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, William Wiegmann, Estelle Kueneke, Jack Vahlkamp, Ray and Aloisia Richter, Norbert & Flora Richter, and Richard and Dorothy Richter. Mrs. Richter was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and the Ladies Sodality in Breese. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and was a dedicated homemaker and supporter of the family farm. A funeral mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, December 3, 2007 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Breese with Rev. Chuck Tuttle officiating. Interment will follow at St. Dominic/St. Augustine Cemetery in Breese. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. Sunday, December 2, 2007 and from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Monday, December 3, 2007 at Hempen Funeral Home in Breese. Memorials may be made to St. Augustine Building Fund, Heartland Hospice or to Alzheimer’s Research and will be received at the funeral home.
