Ricky G. Wessel, 59, of Aviston, passed away on Friday, September 27, 2019 at HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese He was born January 18, 1960 in Belleville, son of Arnold T. and Shirley A. (Price) Wessel.
He is survived by his siblings, Dale (Jodi Pillow) Wessel of Carlyle, Deb (Ron) Tebbe of St. Rose, Sheri (David) Nolte of Shattuc, and David (Jackie) Wessel of LaMonte, MO: 12 nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews
In addition to his mother and father he is preceded in death by a niece, Danielle Wessel.
Mr. Wessel graduated in 1978 from Central High School and then received his Associate’s Degree from Lewis & Clark Community College as a computer programmer. He was a member of St. Francis Parish, and a lifetime member of the Aviston Jaycee’s and Knights of Columbus.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Aviston with Rev. Dan Friedman officiating. Burial will follow at St. Francis Cemetery in Aviston.
Friends may call from 4:00 until 8:00 pm on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at Nordike Funeral Home in Aviston and from 9:00 until 10:00 am on Thursday at St. Francis Catholic Church in Aviston.
Memorials may be made to the Shriner's Hospital or Spinal Cord Injury Association of Illinois and will be received at the funeral home.
