Ripperda, Alfred

Alfred A. Ripperda, 80, of Breese, died Monday, July 9, 2007 at St. Joseph Hospital in Breese. He was born August 27, 1926 in Breese, son of Henry B. and Cecilia (Bach) Ripperda. He married Mary T. Musenbrock on April 19, 1950 in St. Rose and she survives in Breese. I n addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, David Ripperda of Breese; four daughters, Shirley Steirer and husband Ronald of Belleville, Patricia Mete and husband Robert of Breese, Tammy Geragosian and husband Mark, of Breese, and Nancy Winslow and friend Scott Sullivan of Prescott Valley, AZ; seven grandchildren, Christina Ramage and husband Craig, Eric Powell and wife Jennifer, Jamie Howes and husband Matt, Jenna Geragosian, Duran Geragosian, Cody Winslow and Jordon Winslow; three great-grandchildren, Trent Howes, Seth Howes and Taylor Powell; two brothers, Art Ripperda of Sorrento and Paul Ripperda of Aviston; one sister, Bernice Kuhl and husband Vincent of Breese; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Rita Ripperda of Beckemeyer, Ed and Pearl Musenbrock of Scottsdale, AZ, Anthony Musenbrock and friend Tooter Detmer of St. Rose, Joe and Rita Musenbrock of Scottsdale, AZ, Paul and Joyce Musenbrock of Highland, Emma Musenbrock of Albers, and Dorothy Musenbrock of Albers. He was preceded in death by his parents, a great grandson, Christian Lusch; four brothers, Clarence Ripperda, Lawrence Ripperda, Larry Ripperda, and Richard Ripperda in infancy; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Hilda Ripperda, Dolores Ripperda, Mary Ann Ripperda, Thelma Ripperda, Vic and Mary Musenbrock, Ben Musenbrock, John Musenbrock and a son-in-law, David Powell. Mr. Ripperda was the owner of East End Body Shop in Breese for 35 years. He was a WW II veteran of the United States Army and a member of St. Dominic Parish in Breese and the American Legion Post 252 in Breese. A funeral mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 16, 2007 at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese with Rev. Ben Stern officiating. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Sunday, July 15, 2007 and from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 16, 2007 at Hempen Funeral Home in Breese. Memorials may be made to St. Dominic Parish will be received at the funeral home.
