Rita A. Gebke

Rita Gebke of Carlyle died Tuesday, October, 18, 2011 at her residence at the age of 80 years. She was born in St. Louis, Missouri on March 25, 1931, the daughter of John and Laura Wienstroer Sandheinrich. She married Bernard "Big" Gebke on June 6, 1951 in St. Libory, Illinois and he preceded her in death on March 6, 2004.

Rita is survived by her children: Colleen Foppe and husband Glenn of Carlyle, Sandy Becker and husband Douglas of Bartelso, JoAnn VanWinkle and friend Elmer Williamson of Carlyle, Mark Gebke and wife Phyllis of Bartelso and Dennis Gebke and wife Connie of Bartelso; sisters: Betty Jane Gale of St. Louis, Missouri, Lois Hummert and husband Casimir of Fayetteville, Illinois, and LaVerne Lintker and husband Robert of St. Libory; brothers: Charles Sandheinrich and wife Arline of Freeburg, Illinois, Elmer Sandheinrich and wife Darline of Millstadt, Illinois and Lloyd Sandheinrich and wife Patty of St. Libory; sister-in-law: Gay Sandheinrich of St. Libory, Illinois; brother-in-law: Ed Getz of Highland, Illinois; 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Gebke was preceded in death by her sister: Mary Louise Getz; son-in-law: Dwight VanWinkle; brother: Elroy Sandheinrich; and brother-in-law: Wilburn Gale.

Rita was a member of St. Mary Church in Carlyle and also a member of the Red Hat Society.

The Funeral Liturgy will be Friday, October 21, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary Church with Fr. George Mauck officiating.
Friends may visit with the family at the Frerker Funeral Home on Thursday from 5 to 8:00 P.M.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice and those will be received at the Frerker Funeral Home which is serving the family.
