Robert “Bob” Albers, 72, of Germantown, died Monday, February 13, 2017 at his home. He was born October 7, 1944 in Germantown, the son of Frank E. and Adella E., nee Olliges, Albers. He married Martha Lee Peltes July 17, 1970 in Albers and she survives in Germantown
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Aaron (Erinn) Albers of Albers, Lisa (Randy) Sprehe of Baytown, TX, Scott (special friend, Amanda Pries) of Albers, and Lynn (Brian) Buck of Carlyle; seven grandchildren, Sally, Ashley, Alyssa, Lilly, Austin, Dylan, and Braylan; his siblings, Dan (Marge) Albers, Randy (special friend, Ruthie) Albers, Ken (Sharon) Albers, Gene (fiancé, Charmaine) Albers, Rita (Dan) Poettker, Patty (Jim) Dumstorff, Darlene (Mike) Wuebbels, Tom (Wanda) Albers, Roger (Marjorie) Albers, Margie (Bernie) Rittenhouse, and Michael (special friend, Valerie) Albers; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Don & Darlene Peltes.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bernard & Henrietta, nee Kahrhoff, Peltes.
Mr. Albers worked for Lanter Distributing in Madison, IL for 40 years and was a veteran of the United States Army having served in Korea. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, barbequing, and listening to classic country music.
A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, February 16, 2017 at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Albers. Burial with Military Honors will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery in Albers.
Friends may call Wednesday, February 15, 2017 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and again on Thursday, February 16, 2017 from 8 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Albers.
Memorials may be made to the family and will be received at the church or Nordike Funeral Home, 15 E. Hanover, New Baden, IL 62265 who is serving the family.
