Robert C. Hetzel

Robert C. Hetzel, age 81 of Huey passed way at his residence on Sunday September 23, 2012. Robert was born in Breese, Illinois on March 24, 1931 the son of Opal Hetzel. He married Mary Brower on November 7, 1953 in Carlyle.

Robert was preceded in death by his mother, and his son; Richard Hetzel.

Mr. Hetzel is survived by his wife; his son, Robert W. Hetzel of Carlyle; a grand daughter, Michelle Hetzel of Breese; a step-brother Jim Broeckling and wife Mary Jane of Centralia; his sister, JoAnn Brower and husband Charles David of Bowling Green, KY; his brother-in-law, Richard Brower and wife Linda of Lakeland, FL and many cousins and friends.

Robert enjoyed horses and owned many through out the years. He worked for the City of Carlyle for 10 years before starting Bob Hetzel’s Body Shop where he worked for 18 years. He then worked for the Clinton County Highway Department for 20 years.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday September 27, 2012 at the Frerker Funeral Home in Carlyle. Interment will follow at the Carlyle Cemetery

Family and friends may visit with the Hetzel Family on Wednesday from 4 until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 8 until the time of services at the funeral home.

Memorial may be made in Robert’s honor to the Carlyle Cemetery Association and will be received at the Frerker Funeral Home which is serving the family.
