Robert E. Lynch

Robert Eugene Lynch, 91, met his Lord Jesus Christ on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at Trenton Village Assisted Living. He was born on April 15, 1933 to Albert and Freda Lynch in E. St. Louis, Illinois. He married Annette M. Lynch August 15, 1951 and they were married for over 70 years. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin brother, Raymond (Virginia) Lynch; son-in-law, Terry Calvert; and a great grandson, Cade Calvert. 

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two daughters, Linda Calvert and Rebecca (Steve) Schlau; son, Bruce (Angi) Lynch; eight grandchildren, Terry (Tracy) Calvert, Chad Calvert, Ryan Calvert, Craig (Kim) Schlau, Kristen (Chris) Schlautman, and Logan, Brady and Harris Lynch; great grandchildren, Trent, Troy, and Tori Calvert, Conner and Cailey Calvert, Madelyn Blair, Halle, Kylie, Kinsey, and Luke Schlautman; brother-in-law, Noel (Janet) Harris; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Robert retired from the Mobil Oil Bulk Plant in St Louis after 37 years and retired after 20 years as a Chief Petty Officer in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserves. Bob served as assistant coach for his son’s Khoury League teams and past president of the Grant School Athletic Association. Bob enjoyed watching his son and grandchildren in all their sporting events. He was a member of New Baden Baptist Church. 

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 2, 2024 from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m at Nordike Funeral Home in New Baden. 

Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, August 2, 2024 at Nordike Funeral Home in New Baden. Burial will follow at Valhalla Gardens of Memory in Belleville. 

Donations in Bob's honor can be made to Carmi Baptist Children’s Home, 949 County Road 1300 N., Carmi IL 62821 or to New Baden First Baptist Church and will be received at the funeral home.
