Delbert T. Rolfingsmeyer, 77, of Breese, died Wednesday, January 16, 2008 at Breese Caring First in Breese. He was born July 10, 1930 in Breese, son of August and Antionette (Sommers) Rolfingsmeyer. He is survived by one brother, Lavern Rolfingsmeyer and wife Mary Ann of Breese; sisters-in-law, Vernell Rolfingsmeyer and Lorena Rolfingsmeyer of Breese; brothers-in-law, Melvin Walter of Highland and Joe Peppenhorst of Beckemeyer; numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. Mr. Rolfingsmeyer was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Eugene Rolfingsmeyer, Kenneth Rolfingsmeyer, Wilbert "Cackles" Rolfingsmeyer; three sisters, Rita Walter, June Peppenhorst, Dolores Wieter; and a brother-in-law, Vincent Wieter. He was a truck driver for Koerkenmeier Milk Service for 35 years and Jansen Trucking for 13 years. He was a Korean era veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of St. Augustine Parish and Men’s Sodality in Breese; the American Legion Post 252 in Breese and was a former member of the Drill Team. A funeral mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 19, 2008 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Breese with Rev. Chuck Tuttle and Deacon Bob Lippert officiating. Interment will follow at St. Dominic/St. Augustine Cemetery in Breese. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, January 18, 2008 and from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 19, 2008 at Hempen Funeral Home in Breese. The American Legion will have a service at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. Augustine Building Fund or to Family Hospice and will be received at the funeral home.
