Marie Rolves, 86, of Albers, died Friday, March 2, 2007, at Countryside Manor in Aviston. She was born September 8, 1920, in Albers, daughter of Ben H. and Mary (Toennies) Korte. She married Louis E. Rolves August 21, 1941, in Damiansville and he preceded in death February 17, 2004. She is survived by three sons, Bob Rolves and wife Carol and Len Rolves and wife Linda, all of Albers, and Gerry Rolves and wife Carol of Quincy; three daughters, Mary Lou Wessel and husband Stan of Highland, Judy Winkeler and husband Ted and Kathy Renth and husband Rusty all of New Baden; four brothers, Ed Korte and wife Agnes of Breese, Jerome "Dick" Korte and wife Clara of Collinsville, Ray Korte and wife Carol of Belleville and Cyril "Pete" Korte and wife Jane of Highland; three sisters, Sister Florence Korte, ASC of Ruma, and Alice Luitjohan, and Alvina Luitjohan and husband Francis all of Albers; 24 grandchildren, Rob Rolves and wife Nancy, Eric Rolves and wife Janet, Christine Rolves, Vickie Ratermann and husband Dave, Becky Karatzis and husband George, Heather Dietz and husband Michael, Tricia Hustedt and husband Steve, Jered Rolves, Scott Wessel, and wife Nicole, Kim Huelsmann and husband Brian, Kristin Wessel, Tim Wessel, Carrie Lavery and husband John, Jamie McDowell and husband Mark, Mike Rolves and wife Lisa, Sarah Rolves, Jill Tasker and husband Jamey, Brett Winkeler and wife Jen, Corey Winkeler, Alyson Winkeler, Kati Renth, Jacki Renth, Emily Renth and Samantha Renth; 19 great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Dora Matysic of Belleville and Veronica Korte of St. Rose. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, George Korte, Ferd Korte and Joe Korte and one sister, Sister Mary Judith Korte, ASC; and two brothers-in-law, Leo Matysik and John Luitjohan. Mrs. Rolves was a homemaker. She was a member of the St. Bernard Parish and Ladies Sodality, Daughters of Isabella Circle 718, and the American Legion Post 1026 Auxiliary. A funeral mass of Resurrection will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 5, 2007, at St. Bernard Church in Albers with the Msgr. Donald Eichenseer officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Bernard Cemetery, Albers. Friends may call after 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 4, 2007 and from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. on Monday, March 5, 2007 at the Hempen Funeral Home in New Baden. The rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Sunday at St. Bernard Church in Albers by the Daughters of Isabella. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice, St. Bernard Parish or Mater Dei High School.
