Rose A Szczeblewski

Rose A. Szczeblewski of Beckemeyer died Sunday, June 10, 2012 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese at the age of 80 years. She was born in Vergennes, IL on July 12, 1931, the daughter of G. Alfred and Catherine (Walker) Schneider. Rose married Carl (Jim) Szczeblewski on July 2, 1949 in Duquoin, and he preceded her in death on May 15, 1994.
Rose is survived by her 16 children: Ernest Szczeblewski of Georgia, Thomas (Linda) Szczeblewski of Beckemeyer, Guy (Nettie) Szczeblewski of Kentucky, Jay (Dana) Szczeblewski of Carlyle, Clay (Tracy) Szczeblewski of Beckemeyer, Bernadette (Gary) Lowe of Carlyle, Penelope (Roy) Grayling of Beckemeyer, Joyce (Craig) Huelsmann of Breese, Carla (Mike) Sanders of Keyesport, Cecilia (Taron) Smith of Indiana, Lucy (Mark) Zartman of Bartelso, Rita Szczeblewski of Virginia, Cynthia (Shaun) Will of Makanda, Sandra (Joseph) Koch of Alhambra, Rhonda Fehrmann of St. Rose, and Kathryn Szczeblewski (Roy Bradford) of Centralia; 5 sisters: Mary Crowe, Josephine (Monroe) White, Agnes White, Sister Edith Schneider PHJC and Clara (Roger) Locher; 1 brother: Philip Schneider; 55 grandchildren,; 36 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; brothers and sisters-in-law Dolores Holthaus Schneider, Sylvester (Ruby) Szczeblewski, Albert Szczeblewski, and Rita Luetkemeyer.
She was greeted in heaven by her husband, parents, 3 grandchildren: Craig Lowe, Marcus and Matthew Richardson; 2 brothers: Adolph and Alfred Schneider; 1 sister: Catherine Alvey; sisters-in-law: Ann Gerstenschlager, Adeline Pearson, Helen Malinski and Laurraine Nowakowski; and brothers-in-law: John White, Steve and Bob Szczeblewski and Ralph Luetkemeyer.
Rose was a homemaker and a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and St. Ann Sodality in Beckemeyer. Rose was a graduate of Vergennes High School class of 1949.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Anthony Church in Beckemeyer with Fr. Ed Schaefer and Deacon Bob Lippert officiating. The burial will follow in St. Anthony Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family at the Frerker Funeral Home in Carlyle on Tuesday from 4 to 8:00 P.M. or on Wednesday from 8 to 10:30 A.M.
Expressions of sympathy are suggested to St. Anthony Catholic Church or to the Szczeblewski family.
