Rose M. Wolters

Rose M. Wolters, age 88 of New Baden entered into rest on Friday, March 22, 2019 at Clinton Manor Nursing Home in New Baden. She was born in Germantown on June 20, 1930, the daughter of Theodore and Frances (Dust) Budde. She married Anthony “Tony” Wolters in Germantown on September 22, 1948 and he preceded her in death on June 26, 1989.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son Theodore Wolters, her granddaughter Jennifer Wolters; siblings: Joe Budde, Ben (Christine) Budde, Helen (Albert) Winkler, Elisabeth (Virgil) Eilering, Anton (Frances) Budde and George (Margie) Budde.

Rose is survived by her children: Robert (Bonnilee) Wolters, Tom (Judy) Wolters, and JoAnn (Tom) Siegel; grandchildren: Michael Wolters, Bryan (Rachael) Siegel, Melissa (Christopher) Gottwalt, Michelle (Darin) Lastine, Erika (Michael) Curtis, Theodore (Gabrielle) Wolters, and Jason (Kellen) Wolters; as well as eight great grandchildren.

Mrs. Wolters was a member of St. George Parish in New Baden. She was a past president and current member of the American Legion Post 321 Auxiliary in New Baden. Rose was responsible for organizing funeral luncheons for the legion for many years. She loved playing euchre and quilting. Mrs. Wolters became a Gold Star Mother when her son, Ted, was killed in action in Vietnam. She was the oldest Gold Star Mother in Clinton County.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at St. George Catholic Church in New Baden with Rev. Gene Neff Officiating. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in New Baden.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 25, 2019 from 4:00 until 8:00 pm and again on Tuesday from 8:00 until 9:45 am at Nordike Funeral Home in New Baden. The New Baden American Legion Auxiliary will conduct a walk through at 7:00 pm Monday.

Memorials made in memory of Rose are suggested to the St. George Window Fund, Hospice of Southern Illinois, or the New Baden Legion and will be received at Nordike Funeral Home, 15 East Hanover St., New Baden, IL.
