Bernard P. "Bernie" Rowekamp, 55, of Shattuc, died Sunday, April 16, 2006 at his home. He was born July 23, 1950 in Breese, son of Philip W. "Phib" and Mary E. (Kelley) Rowekamp. He married Marsha J. Clawson on October 12, 1984 in Breese and she survives in Shattuc. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one brother, Philip R. Rowekamp and wife Anna of Tucson, AZ, and his father-in-law, Frank Sager of Centralia. He was preceded in death by his parents and his mother-in-law, Rufina Sager. Mr. Rowekamp was the owner/operator of Rowekamp's Gunsmithing Shop since 1971. He managed the Centralia Trap Club for many years and was passionate about trap, skeet, and sporting clays. He was a Lifetime NRA member, an avid water fowl and quail hunter and known as an expert wing shot. He was a mentor to many young area sportsmen and an expert gunsmith and craftsman. Many hunters and his four beloved hunting dogs will miss him. Friends may call from 3 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2006 at Hempen Funeral Home in Breese. At his request private cremation services will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Rifle Association, the Centralia Trap Club or Clinton County Relay For Life and will be received at the funeral home.
