Russell John Singler, age 80, peacefully passed away at his home in Huey, Illinois, on January 28, 2025. Born on October 6, 1944, in New Baden, Illinois, he was the son of the late Clarence and Josephine (Sprehe) Singler.
Russell devoted his life to farming, served his country honorably in the United States Army, and was known for his passion as a classic car enthusiast. A member of the Carlyle Christian Church, Russell found joy in serving the Lord throughout his life.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dolores Singler; his children Gene Jansen (Carmen), Glenda Newcomb (Jack), Gary Jansen (Donna), and Gale Brink; nine cherished grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Russell is also survived by his sister Linda Gonzales (Jack), his brother Rich Singler (Geri), and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 until 4:00 PM on Saturday, February 8, 2025, with a Celebration of Life service to follow at Nordike Funeral Home in Carlyle.
Donations made in memory of Russell are suggested to his family to help pay for medical expenses and will be received at Nordike Funeral Home, 740 Fairfax Street, Carlyle, IL 62231.
