Frances E. "Fran" Schrage, 66, of Breese, died Wednesday, April 26, 2006 at her home. She was born January 19, 1940 in Spencer, Iowa, daughter of Fred. & Erma (Hollenbeck) Wetherell. She married Elmer F. Schrage on June 15, 1960 in Ottawa, IL and he survives in Breese. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Scott Schrage and Chad Schrage both of Breese; one sister, Joan Bourne and husband Jon of Pontiac, IL; seven sisters-in-law, Alice Schrage of Breese, Bernita Mensing of Breese, Bridget Zimmermann of Fairview Heights, Arlene Peek of Aviston, Helen Wolters of Breese, Katie Schrage of Breese and Judy Schrage of Highland; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, father-in-law & mother-in-law, Fred & Dorothea (Buehne) Schrage; nine brothers-in-law, Ralph Schrage, Alfred Schrage, Alvin Mensing, Bernard Wolters, Paul Schrage, Richard Schrage, Louis Holtgrave, Gerhard Peek, Gary Zimmermann, and a sister-in-law, Elsie Holtgrave. Mrs. Schrage was a retired cosmetologist. She was a member of St. Dominic Parish and St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary. She received her elementary and high school education at Ottawa, IL and then attended Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, IL. She enjoyed her card club, traveling, homemaking and reading. A funeral mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 29, 2006 at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese with Rev. Patrick Peter officiating. Interment will follow at St. Dominic/St. Augustine Cemetery in Breese. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. Friday, April 28, 2006 and from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Saturday, April 29, 2006 at Hempen Funeral Home in Breese. There will be a prayer service at 4 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) and will be received at the funeral home.
