Marvin D. Schulte, 72, of Trenton, IL, died Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at his home. He was born February 18, 1942 in Mattoon, IL son of William H. and Eleanor (Wuebbels) Schulte. He married Donna Nesler July 30, 1966 at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Wood River, IL and she survives in Trenton, IL. In addition to his wife he is survived by his mother, Eleanor Schulte of Trenton, IL; his children, Debbie (Dennis) Nordmann of Trenton, IL and Michael D. (Chelsa) Schulte of Summerfield, IL; eight grandchildren, Kyle, Amy, William, Emily, and Tyler Nordmann and Alex, Allison, and Andrew Schulte; a brother, Dennis (Cathy) Schulte of Trenton, IL; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ray Colgin of Oklahoma, Janet Hunt of Wood River, IL, Larry & Joice Nesler and Jack & Mary Nesler all of East Alton, IL, and Lisa Nesler of Chesterfield, MO; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by a sister, Ellyn Jane Colgin; two brothers-in-law, John Hunt and Scott Nesler; a nephew, David Schulte; and a niece, Jacqueline Schwehr. Mr. Schulte worked with his father for 22 years at William H. Schulte & Sons Trucking, and then started his own trucking company, Marvin D. Schulte Truck Service. He was a member of St. Joseph Parish in Lebanon and the Knights of Columbus Council 2932 in Trenton. Marvin enjoyed going to tractor pulls and collecting John Deere tractors. He was one of a kind and always made people laugh. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, November 3, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lebanon with Rev. Gene Neff officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Lebanon. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday, November 2, 2014 and from 8 a.m. until 9 a.m. Monday, November 3, 2014 at at Hempen-Nordike Funeral Home in New Baden. Memorials may be made to Family Hospice or St. Joseph Parish Memorial Fund and will be received at the funeral home or church.
