Sewald, Patty

Patty Sewald, 51, of Webster Groves, MO, formerly of rural Mascoutah, IL, died Saturday, October 21, 2006 at the home of her brother in rural Mascoutah. She was born December 12, 1954 in Highland, daughter of Philip and Kathryn (Beutler) Sewald. She is survived by her mother Kathryn Sewald of New Baden; one sister, Phyllis Kunz and husband Robert of rural Trenton and one brother, Brad Sewald and wife Myra of rural Mascoutah; a nephew, Lance Kunz, a niece, Kim Weaver and her husband Wally; and great nieces, Noelle and Allie Weaver. She was preceded in death by her father, Philip Sewald. Patty was a graduate of Mascoutah High School class of 1972. She earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from California State University, Fullerton, CA in 1984. She worked for Southwestern Bell in St. Louis, MO for 13 years and most recently worked at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. She did volunteer work at Barnes Jewish Hospital before working there. She was a member of St. George Parish in New Baden. A funeral mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 25, 2006 at St. George Catholic Church in New Baden with Rev. Eugene Neff officiating. Interment will follow at St. George Cemetery in New Baden. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 24, 2006 and from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 25, 2006 at Hempen Funeral Home in New Baden. There will be a prayer service at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to BJC Hospice and will be received at the funeral home.
