Sharol Guerin, 91, of New Baden, died Sunday, April 14, 2024 at Clinton Manor Living Center in New Baden. She was born February 7, 1933 in Mascoutah, the daughter of Clarence and Flora, nee Frerking, Dichhaut. She married Edmund R. "Ed" Guerin, Jr. on November 30, 1952 in Mascoutah and he preceded her in death on June 20, 2010.
Sharol is survived by her children, Barbara (Craig) Rice of Blue Eye, MO, Cindy Singler of New Baden, Deb (Gregg) Wehrle of Belleville, and Sherri (Joe) Toenjes of Damiansville; 10 grandchildren, Derek (Gaby) Rice of Chicago, Brian (Amber) Rice of Colorado Springs, CO, Mandy (Jeff) Kohlbrecher of Trenton, Jenna (Gerrit) Trotta of New Baden, Katy (Kerry) Singler of Germantown, Nick (Ashley) Wehrle of St. Louis, MO, Meghan (Connor) Tomlinson of Charlotte, NC, Shelly Robke of Germantown, Sheila (Brad) Dierkes of Carlyle, and Shirley (Tim) Mugele of New Baden; and numerous great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Ellen Pries, a son-in-law, Ron Singler; a grandson-in-law, Dale Robke; and two brothers-in-law, Richard Guerin and Richard Pries.
Mrs. Guerin was a secretary at Scott Air Force Base and a member of Zion United Church of Christ in New Baden where she sang in the choir for over 50 years. She was an avid quilter and loved baking and cooking.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 18, 2024 at Zion United Church of Christ in New Baden with Pastor Stephen Stark officiating.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of services at Zion United Church of Christ in New Baden.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or Zion UCC and will be received at the church or Nordike Funeral Home, 15 E. Hanover St., New Baden, IL 62265 who is serving the family.
