Strake, Paul

W. Paul "Bud" Strake, 79, of Trenton, died Tuesday, July 17, 2007 at St. Joseph Hospital in Breese. He was born January 25, 1928 in Breese, son of Bernard and Johanna (Abeln) Strake. He married June Kuhl on August 12, 1965 in Lebanon and she survives in Trenton. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a brother, Herbert Strake and his wife Pauline of Creve Coeur, MO; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Rosemary and Mike Mazeka of Beckemeyer, Ruth and Roger Schmitz of South Bend, IN, Dennis Kuhl of Mt. Olive, IL, Agnes and Maurice Coyle of Anchorage, AK, Theresa and Al Hostmeyer of Olathe, KS, Frank and Sheila Kuhl of Miami, FL and Kathleen Kuhl of Tampa, FL; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Dorothy Strake and two brothers-in-law, Ralph Kuhl and Thomas Kuhl. Mr. Strake was the former part owner and operator of the Trenton Sun. He retired in 1990. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving post WWII in Japan. He was a member of St. Mary’s Parish in Trenton. A funeral mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 21, 2007 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Trenton with Rev. James Dougherty officiating. Interment will follow at St. Dominic/St. Augustine Cemetery in Breese. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, July 20, 2007 and from 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 21, 2007 at Hempen Funeral Home in Breese. Memorials may be made St. Mary Church in Trenton or to the Trenton Ambulance Service and will be received at the funeral home.
