Mary V. Strubhart, 93, of Aviston, died Saturday, October 22, 2011 at her home. She was born January 24, 1918 in New Baden daughter of Clemens and Anna (Kohnen) Dust. She married Aloys H. "Boots" Strubhart November 15, 1939 in New Baden and he preceded her in death on March 30, 1964. She is survived by her children, Eugene (Mary) Strubhart of Campbellsville, KY, Norman (Jeanette) Strubhart, Allen (Rita) Strubhart, Dale (Marsha) Strubhart, and Marilyn (Mike) Drees all of Aviston; 18 grandchildren, Jayne (Steve) Wenos, Jeffrey (Rhonda) Strubhart, Catina Smith, Tish Smith, Wednesday Smith, Crystal Smith, Karen (John) Eutsler, Brian (Susan) Strubhart, Kevin (Monica) Strubhart, Sherry (Scott) McDonald, Cathy Strubhart, Michael (Sara) Strubhart, Wanda Strubhart, Steven Strubhart, Nicholas Strubhart, Robert Williamson, Veronica "Roni" (special friend, Jason Detmer) Drees, and Christina (Joe) Newcomb; 21 great-grandchildren, Sabian Wenos, Jonah Wenos, Zoey Strubhart, Allen Smith, Anthony Marvel, Savannah Pate, Ronald Thompson, Kaitlyn Eutsler, Tyler Eutsler, Sidney Strubhart, Olivia Strubhart, John "Jack" Strubhart, Bradley Strubhart, Mallory Strubhart, Justin McDonald, Austin McDonald, Logan Malcomb, Zachary Malcomb, Devin Malcomb, Benjamin Malcomb, and Levi Newcomb; sisters-in-law, Veronica Siders of Buhl, MN, Idella Strubhart of Riviera, TX and Laura Strubhart of Shiner, TX. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband and her parents she was preceded in death by her two brothers and their wives, Henry and Adelle Dust and Herman and Elizabeth Dust. Mrs. Strubhart was a homemaker and a member of St. Francis Parish in Aviston. She enjoyed quilting, stitching and gardening. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Aviston with Rev. Dan Friedman officiating. Burial will follow at St. Francis Cemetery in Aviston. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 25, 2011 and from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at Hempen Funeral Home in Aviston. There will be a prayer service at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. Francis Cemetery Fund and will be received at the funeral home.
