Estelle Stukenberg, 89, of Aviston, formerly of Belleville, died Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at Countryside Manor in Aviston. She was born January 19, 1920 in Damiansville daughter of Henry and Bertha (Heckenkemper) Kalmer. She married Simon Stukenberg in Damiansville on October 21, 1947 and he preceded her in death on July 21, 1977. She is survived by two sons, David (Judith) Stukenberg of Olathe, KS, and Tom (June) Stukenberg of Germantown; six grandchildren, Katie (Keith) Maloney, Emily (Zach) Miller, Kevin (Eva) Stukenberg, Jason (Linda) Stukenberg, Jo Stukenberg, and Kelly Stukenberg; six great-grandchildren, Collin Maloney, Allison Maloney, Lauren Maloney, Alex Miller, Karlee Miller, and Aleigha Stukenberg. In addition to her husband and her parents she was preceded in death by two sons, Kenneth Stukenberg and Steven Stukenberg; six brothers, two sisters; and a granddaughter, Sarah Stukenberg. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 25, 2009 at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Albers with Msgr. Donald Eichenseer officiating. Burial will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery in Albers. Memorials may be made to Clinton County Relay For Life or to the donor’s choice and will be received at the funeral home. Friends may call from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, September 24, 2009 and from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m., Friday, September 25, 2009 at Hempen Funeral Home in Albers. Mrs. Stukenberg was a nurse and worked at local hospitals and nursing homes. She was a former member of St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Belleville and a member of the American Legion Post 1026 Auxiliary in Albers.
