David B. Sudholt, 74, of Damiansville, Ill., died Thursday, December 29, 2005 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Belleville, Ill. He was born on January 20, 1931 in Aviston, Ill., son of Anton F. and Dora (Alberternst) Sudholt. He married Marian Eilering on October 8, 1957 in Damiansville and she survives in Damiansville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Kevin Sudholt and wife Karen of Albers, Dale Sudholt and Kurt Sudholt of Damiansville and a daughter, Kim Gebke and husband Marvin of Damiansville; three grandchildren, Alicia Gebke, Kelsey Sudholt and Andy Sudholt; four brothers, Tom Sudholt, Floyd Sudholt and wife Pat, Robert Sudholt and wife Marilyn all of Aviston, and Don Sudholt and wife Antoinette of Trenton; one sister, Elvina Gantner and husband John of Highland; sisters-in-law & brother-in-law, Lorene Sudholt of Aviston, Alice Gonsalves, and Kathy & Robert Hitpas all of Damiansville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, David A. Sudholt, one sister, Odelia Trame and a brother, Ernest Sudholt; his father-in-law & mother-in-law, Ed & Marie Eilering; brothers-in-law, Arnold Trame & Tom Gonsalves & sisters-in-law, Leola Sudholt and Betty Sudholt. Mr. Sudholt was a farmer. He was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean War. He was a member of St. Damian Parish & Men’s Sodality, American Legion Post 1026 and the Clinton County Farm Bureau. A funeral mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, January 2, 2006 at St. Damian Church in Damiansville, with the Msgr. Donald Eichenseer officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at St. Damian Cemetery, Damiansville. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Sunday, January 1, 2006 and from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. on Monday, January 2, 2006 at the Hempen Funeral Home in Albers. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice and will be received at the funeral home.
