Sudholt, L. "Rollie"

Roland L. “Rollie” Sudholt, 81, of Breese, died Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at Carlyle Healthcare Center in Carlyle. He was born July 14, 1932 in Aviston, son of Leo and Agatha (Buehne) Sudholt. He married Florence Loddeke May 18, 1968 in Breese and she preceded him in death March 1, 2000. He is survived by his siblings, Betty Huels of Carlyle, Marvin “Bud” (Rose) Sudholt of Breese, Lucille “Dolly” Raish of Belleville, Maxine “Toots” (Don) Hempen of Mokena, and Duane “Chub” (Rita) Sudholt of Belleville; a sister-in-law, Dolores Sudholt of Evansville, IN; and he is also survived by nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Sudholt; a sister, Marie Benhoff; and brothers-in-law, Leonard “Stix” Benhoff, Louis Huels, and Robert Raish. Mr. Sudholt was a bottler for Packet Dairy in O’Fallon and previously worked at Hess Corp in Hoyleton. He was a member of St. Dominic Parish in Breese and the Clinton County Farm Bureau. Rollie was a huge blood donor. He was a humble and gentle man who loved gardening, his dog Sparky, and living in the Rod & Gun Club area. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 9, 2013 at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese with Rev. Patrick Peter officiating. Burial will follow at St. Dominic/St. Augustine Cemetery in Breese. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, August 8, 2013 and from 8 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 9, 2013 at Hempen Funeral Home in Breese. Memorials may be made to St. Dominic Parish or Carlyle Healthcare Center and will be received at the funeral home.
