Sydney Ines Irizarry, 18, of Albers, died Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at her home. She was born October 5, 1999 in Breese, the daughter of Andres and Christina “Tina”, nee Kennedy, Irizarry and they survive in Albers.
In addition to her parents she is survived by her sisters, Jamie (John) Zurliene of Marina, CA, Lauren (Ahren) Langhauser of Breese, and Grace Irizarry of Deltona, FL; nieces and nephews, Camryn, Jackson, & Leo Langhauser, and Jayden Bonebright; her grandparents, Bryan Kennedy of Albers, and Andres & Judith Irizarry of Puerto Rico; aunts and uncles, Kathy & Gary Endres of Germantown, Eric & Erin Ratermann of New Baden, Bryan & Kaylinn Kennedy of Breese, Sean & Michelle Kennedy of Albers, Carlos Irizarry of Puerto Rico, and Maria & Patrick Overton of Tallahassee, FL; she is also survived by cousins and friends.
Sydney was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Rozanna Kennedy.
Sydney was a senior at Central High School in Breese and was anticipating her enrollment at SWIC where she received a scholarship for Volleyball. She was a member of St. Bernard Parish in Albers, the National Honor Society, the High School & Club Volleyball teams, and the Track team. Sydney enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, listening and singing to music, and spending time with family and friends.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Albers with Rev. Anthony Onyango and Deacon Glenn Netemeyer officiating.
Friends may call Monday, April 9, 2018 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and again on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 from 8 a.m. until time of services at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Albers.
Memorials may be made to the family and will be received at the church or Nordike Funeral Home, 15 E. Hanover, New Baden, IL 62265 who is serving the family.
