Sylvia A. Honchell

Sylvia A. Honchell, age 77, of Carlyle passed away on Friday, July 1, 2016 at Helia Healthcare Center in Greenville. Sylvia was born in Highland, IL on January 8, 1939, the daughter of Howard and Bessie (Kimbro) Kaegy. She married William Honchell, Jr. in Carlyle on December 13, 2006 and he survives in Carlyle.
Mrs. Honchell is also survived by her two sons: Kent Balsters of Hillsboro, IL and Scott (Mickey) Balsters of Texas; her brother: Lynn (Josie) Kaegy of Dudleyville ; three grandchildren: Heather, Zack, and Justin; her great grandson, Austin; her niece: Michelle (Mike) Emken; two nephews: Robert (Wendy) Kaegy, and David (Toni) Kaegy; and nine great nieces and nephews: Kathryn and Kloe Kaegy, Gavin, Danielle, Audrey, and Paige Kaegy, Shawn Pope, Mia and Wyatt Emken.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, as well as her daughter-in-law, Barb Balsters.
Sylvia loved all animals, especially her pet dogs and cats. Over the years she rescued many animals and nursed them back to health. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and crocheting.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
