Tebbe, Cletus

Cletus H. Tebbe, 88, of St. Rose, IL, died Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at his daughter’s home in Breese, IL. He was born May 12, 1920 in St. Rose Township, son of Fred & Josephine (Grapperhaus) Tebbe. He married Cecilia L. Kohlbrecher on April 23, 1946 in St. Rose and she survives in St. Rose, IL. In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Janet Brede of Breese, IL, Irma (Ron) Jenkins of St. Louis, MO, Roger (Linda) Tebbe of Austin, TX and Nancy (Don) Boyd of St. Louis, MO; four grandchildren, Stacie (Jeff) Liening, Ryan (Jaime) Scheetz, Brett Tebbe, and Kyle Tebbe; three step grandchildren, Kevin (Tina) Jenkins, Todd Jenkins and Brooke Boyd; three great- grandchildren, Mackenzie Liening, Parker Liening, and Callie Scheetz; two step great- grandchildren, Andrew Jenkins and Ashley Jenkins; a sister-in-law, Eleanor Kohlbrecher of Joliet, IL; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Lawrence Tebbe; two sisters in infancy; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Lawrence Kohlbrecher, Edward & Josephine Kohlbrecher, Erwin & Evelyn Kohlbrecher, Irene & John "Boots" Grapperhaus, Lucille & Tony Jiambalvo, and Mary Tebbe; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Herman & Julianna Kohlbrecher. Mr. Tebbe was a farmer. He was a very active member of the St. Rose Parish and Men’s Sodality. He was an active member of the 4th Degree Assembly Knights of Columbus in Highland, IL and the Highland Knights of Columbus Council 1580. He served on the Clinton County Co-op Board for 12 years; was a former member of the St. Rose School Board for 12 years and a former St. Rose Township Trustee for 12 years; a lifelong member of the St. Rose Development Club and a charter member of the St. Rose Volunteer Fire Department. Cletus was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great- grandfather and a good friend to many. Funeral mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 29, 2008 at St. Rose Catholic Church in St. Rose, IL with Rev. Edward Schaefer officiating. Interment will follow at St. Rose Cemetery in St. Rose, IL. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, November 28, 2008 and from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Saturday, November 29, 2008 at Hempen Funeral Home in Breese. There will be a parish prayer service at 4 p.m. and the Knights of Columbus and the 4th Degree Assembly Knights of Columbus will have a prayer and Chalice Service at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the St. Rose Parish Building Fund or to the Mater Dei High School Foundation and will be received at the funeral home.
