Theodore B. “Ted” Vosholler, 91, of New Baden, died Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at Clinton Manor Living Center in New Baden. He was born June 25, 1927 in St. Rose, the son of Theodore J. and Elizabeth, nee Dieckmann, Vosholler. He married JoAnn C. Dahm January 19, 1955 at St. Mary Parish in Belleville and she survives in New Baden.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Cathy (Norman) Thole, Jeanne Langenhorst, Linda (Allan) Becker, Nancy (John) Vincent, Ed (Tammy) Vosholler, and Mary (Terry) Eversgerd; grandchildren, Dana (Dave) Jansen, Danny (Nancy) Thole, Diane Thole, Donna (Justin) Rakers, Mike (Missy) Langenhorst, Michelle (Shane) Oertwig, Matt (Ashley) Langenhorst, Mark Langenhorst, Eric Becker, Erin (Ed) Kehrer, Brad Becker, Jennifer Vincent, Niki Vincent, Ryan (Jennifer) Vincent, John Vincent, Josh (Reena) Vincent, Connor & Tanner Vosholler, Jessica (Devon) Litteken, and Kyle Eversgerd; great-grandchildren, Brayden & Bentley Jansen, Dylan, Hanna, & Emma Thole, Zac Kunze, Payton & Kambree Rakers, Krystinia Langenhorst, Molly & Macy Langenhorst, Brendan Oertwig, Eva & Ellie Kehrer, Cheznee Becker, John Owen Vincent, and Gabrela Vincent; a sister, Rita Pierce of Trenton; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Rosella & Lou Touchette of Belleville.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings and their spouses, Andrew & Lyra Vosholler, Paul & Fidelis Vosholler, Gertrude & Charles Holtgrave, and Sophie & Vincent Santel; and two brothers-in-law, Joseph Dahm and Jerry Pierce.
Mr. Vosholler was a firefighter at Scott Air Force Base and a veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of St. George Parish in New Baden, the New Baden American Legion Post 321, and the New Baden Knights of Columbus Council 10311.
A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 1, 2018 at St. George Catholic Church in New Baden with Rev. Gene Neff officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in New Baden.
Visitation will be held Friday, August 31, 2018 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and again on Saturday, September 1, 2018 from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. at Nordike Funeral Home in New Baden.
Memorials may be made to the St. George Window Restoration Fund, Clinton Manor Activity Fund, or for Masses and will be received at the funeral home.
