Richard D. Turk, 65, of Breese, Ill., died Monday, January 02, 2006 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Belleville, Ill. He was born on June 12, 1940 in Rahway, New Jersey son of George H. and Violet M. (Peters) Turk. He married Virginia "Ginny" King and she preceded him in death on April 15, 2005. He is survived by his children, Darren Turk and wife Yvonne of Blairstown, New Jersey, Kelly Turk of Belvidere, New Jersey, Christina Henthorne and husband Almon of Mt. Pocono, PA, and Heather Harris and husband Ted of Wellington, OH; two step children, Mark Pratt of Breese, Ill. and Terri Confer of Smithton, Ill.; ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild; a sister, Phyllis Van Hecke of Roxbury, NH; and a sister-in-law, Mary Ann Turk of Woodbridge, NJ. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, George Turk and a brother-in-law, George Van Hecke. Mr. Turk was a truck driver for Decker Transport for over 30 years before his retirement. He was a member of Breese Senior Citizens. Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 4, 2006 at Hempen Funeral Home in Breese, Ill. with Chaplain Mike Garrison officiating. Friends may call from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 4, 2006 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Breese Senior Citizens Center and will be received at the funeral home.
