Travis Lee “Rusty” Tyson, 63, of New Baden, IL, died on Monday, August 15, 2005 at Canterbury Manor in Waterloo, IL. He was born on December 25, 1941, in Hoxie, Arkansas, son of Orville and Kathryn (Wilhoit)Tyson. He married Betty E. Orloski on July 3, 1965 in Cahokia, IL and she preceded him in death on February 2, 2002. Mr. Tyson is survived by one son, Jay Tyson and wife Jennifer of Waterloo; and one daughter, Christy Arnold and husband Tim of Goodrich, MI; five grandchildren, Aaron and Andrew McCartney, Jared and Jeremy Tyson, and Zachary Arnold; one brother, Tom Tyson and wife Delores of Highland, IL; two sisters, Beverly Taylor and husband Elvis of Jonesboro, Arkansas and Diane Anderson of Caseyville, IL. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Julie Ann Tyson McCartney and a sister, Helen Harper. Mr. Tyson was a veteran of the United States Army serving in Vietnam. He was a driver for Al’s Automotive in Belleville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 19, 2005 at Hempen Funeral Home in New Baden with Rev. Mark Buck officiating. Burial will follow in Greenmount Cemetery in New Baden. Friends may call from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Thursday, August 18, 2005 and from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice and will be received at the funeral home.
