Uhring, Minnie

Minnie Uhring, of Mascoutah, departed this life on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at her home. She was born February 26, 1922 near St. Rose, daughter of Henry and Anna (Schonefeld) Rehkemper. She married Paul Uhring on January 16, 1946 in Highland and he survives in Mascoutah. In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by a daughter, Velma Brokering of New Baden; a son, Norman Uhring of Belleville; five grandchildren, Glenn (Renee) Brokering, Daryl (Nicole) Brokering, Jennifer (Jim) Phillips, Amanda Bruni, and Kyle (Alicia) Uhring; six great-grandchildren, Tori, Trina, Lance and Alyssa Brokering, Alexis Phillips and Addison Bruni; a brother, Ferd (Mary) Rehkemper of St. Rose; and a sister-in-law & brother-in-law, Frances and Mel Greear of Troy. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son-in-law, Charles A. Brokering; a brother, Edward Rehkemper; four sisters, Regina Klostermann, Veronica Reidelberger, Josephine “Josie" Schleper, and Elizabeth “Betty” Holtgrave; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Josephine Rehkemper, Arthur Klostermann, Joseph Reidelberger, Anthony Schleper, Paul Holtgrave, Michael Uhring, Anna Feher, Helen Mosolygo, Margaret Uhring, Bessie Bach, Mary Chaney, and Esther Berris. Mrs. Uhring was retired from grain farming with her husband. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at St. George Catholic Church in New Baden with Rev. Albert Kreher officiating. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in New Baden. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, November 19, 2012 and from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 20, 2012, at Hempen Funeral Home in New Baden. Memorials may be made to Resurrection Cemetery or TIP Hospice and will be received at the funeral home.
