Vincent J. Huene of Carlyle died Monday, September 14, 2009 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese at the age of 91 years. He was born in Bartelso on September 26, 1917 the son of Edward and Eugenia (Grawe) Huene. He married Cyrilla Erlinger at St. Cecilia Church in Bartelso on June 12, 1942 and she survives in Carlyle. Also surviving are three sons: Rick Huene and wife Debbie of Dyersburg, Tennessee, Tim Huene and wife Karen of Ottawa, Kansas and Carroll Huene and wife Dottie of Carlyle; a sister: Helen Haukap and husband Leroy of Highland; five grandchildren: Kelly, Kyle, Heather, Ryan and Erin Huene; and one great granddaughter: Kaylee Shupert.Mr. Huene was a retired teamster truck driver, having driven for Nave Trucking and later Carlyle Transfer. He was a member of St. Mary Church in Carlyle and had served in the Army during WWII. He enjoyed woodworking and being with his family.In keeping with Mr. Huene’s wishes, a private funeral mass was celebrated at the Frerker Funeral Home in Carlyle on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. with Fr. George Mauck officiating. The interment followed at St. Cecilia Cemetery in Bartelso.Expressions of sympathy may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice and those will be received at the Frerker Funeral Home in Carlyle which is serving the family.
