Viola Kruep McBride

Viola Kruep McBride of Centralia, formerly of Beckemeyer, died Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese at the age of 93 years. Viola was born in Beckemeyer on June 30, 1916 the daughter of Edward G. and Katherine (Fauke) Gross. She married Harry Kruep on November 26, 1936 in Beckemeyer and he preceded her in death on September 2, 1969 and later married Raymond McBride on September 9, 1982 in Salem and he preceded her in death on December 22, 1992.Viola is survived by two sons: Ron Kruep and wife Karen of Mt.Vernon and Leroy Kruep and wife Nancy of Troy; a sister: Eileen Simonton of Beckemeyer; six grandchildren: Doug Kruep, Stacy Perrilles, Holly Kruep Campo, Eric Kruep, Jason Kruep and Heather Kruep; and five great grandchildren.Mrs. McBride was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; a daughter: Betty Ann Kruep; two sisters: Mildred and Leona Gross; and a brother: Edward Gross.Viola was a member of St. Anthony Church in Beckemeyer, the Holthaus/Kampwerth American Legion Post 1227 Auxiliary in Beckemeyer, and active in the Centralia Senior Citizens Center. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was an avid St. Cardinals fan. She had worked at the Wee Walker Shoe Company in Carlyle and later at the Warren G. Murray Developmental Center in CentraliaA Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday at 10:00 A.M. at St. Anthony Church in Beckemeyer with Fr. Pat Peter and Deacon Bob Lippert officiating. The interment will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery.Friends may visit with the family at the Frerker Funeral Home in Carlyle on Thursday from 5 to 8:00 P.M. or on Friday from 8 to 9:30 A.M.Expressions of sympathy may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice and those will be received at the Frerker Funeral Home which is serving the family.
