Virgil T. Endres, 90, of Germantown, died Sunday, February 7, 2016 at Carlyle Healthcare Center. He was born November 16, 1925 in Aviston, IL, the son of Anton and Marie (Haar) Endres. He married Genny Huelsmann on January 20, 1948 in Breese and she survives.
In addition to his wife he is survived by a sister, Dolores Fonke of Breese; three brothers, Norman (Rosaline) Endres of Germantown, and Anthony A. (Mary) Endres and Jerome (Ruth) Endres all of Breese; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Herbert Huelsmann of Seymore, TN, Dorothy Hasenstab of Belleville, Edna Niebur of Edwardsville, Evelyn Pakosta of Trenton, Pauline Billhartz of Highland, and Connie Street of St. Louis, MO; and he is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters, Valeria Kuhl, Florence Sarten, and Margie Huelsmann; and brothers-in-law, Robert B. Kuhl, George Sarten, Ralph Fonke, Earl Hasenstab, Mel Niebur, Fred Pakosta, and Vernon Billhartz.
Mr. Endres retired in 1989 after 43 years as a farmer. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served during WWII. Virgil was a 4th Degree Knight for the Knights of Columbus.
Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Germantown with Rev. Jim Buerster officiating. Burial at a later date will be held at Ozark Memorial Park in Branson, MO.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Germantown. The Knights of Columbus will visit the church at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice and will be received at the church or Nordike Funeral Home, 15 E. Hanover, New Baden, IL 62265 who is serving the family.
